Job Description

We are a growing CPA firm in need of a full-time staff accountant to support our clients and the firm. We have a diversified client base comprised of private sector businesses, professional corporations, estates and high net worth individuals, many of which they have assisted to grow into profitable, successful organizations.

The incumbent should have minimum 2 years' experience in public practice preparing working paper files, financial statements, and tax returns. Also, conduct themselves professionally, pay attention to detail, and looking for a long career with our firm. The position will be challenging and rewarding and is perfect for a career minded individual. It is not just a job and should not be approached as such. The position is an integral part of the firm and as with most accounting positions the candidate will use discretion and care when encountering sensitive situations such as privacy concerns or confidential information. This position will be responsible for:

Effectively manage client relationships; Excellent verbal and written communication skills Identify and evaluate business opportunities consistent with the existing beliefs of the firm; Prepare and review corporate working paper files (Compilation engagements) in a wide variety of industries; Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns; Bookkeeping for investments and complex bookkeeping Backup support for bookkeeping staff Research accounting standards and the Income Tax Act

The Individual

Must have accounting diploma or degree Minimum 2 years experience in similar role Strong technical and analytical skills in areas of accounting, tax, and general business; Excellent communications skills with the ability to work well with clients and motivate/develop staff; Experience with Caseware, Taxprep, iFirm, Quickbooks Online Intermediate to Advanced skills with Excel are a must.
