Position Overview
We are seeking an
experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper
to support our growing finance and operations team.
The successful candidate will manage client books across multiple entities, perform month-end reconciliations, and prepare financial reports to support CFO-level analysis and external reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Catch up and clean client's bookkeeping within a short intense deadline
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including
accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Prepare
monthly financial statements
(P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Perform
account reconciliations
, journal entries, and adjusting entries
Assist with
GST/HST filings, year-end adjustments, and working papers
for accountant review
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records across multiple entities
Support
month-end and year-end closing
for several clients
Maintain organized cloud-based client folders and documentation for audit readiness
Conduct
variance analysis
and highlight key findings for management review
Collaborate with CFO advisors on budgeting, KPI reporting, and financial improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum
2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Proficiency in
QuickBooks Online
(required); Xero or Wave is an asset
Solid understanding of
Canadian GAAP and sales tax compliance (GST/HST/PST)
Advanced skills in
Excel or Google Sheets
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle multiple client files
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Bilingual in
English and Mandarin/Cantonese
is an asset but not required
