Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, conducting month-end and year-end closing processes, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial statements and providing analytical support for decision-making.

As a Staff Accountant you will:

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts. Perform and maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner for most asset and liability accounts Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses. Bank reconciliations. Assist with the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate financial statements delivered by day 2 of each month Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Maintain fixed asset records, including preparing depreciation and addition/disposal journal entries, year-end roll forwards, and all other fixed asset reporting Assist with month-end and year-end closing and prepare related reports: Metrics and other reports, as assigned Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, cost accounting, accounts payable. Archive financial records Support year-end annual financial audit by managing due dates and preparing required financial and tax work papers Support the preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial forecasts Assist the Controller with additional projects and ad hoc analyses as needed Back up for the full AP cycle Prepare and file tax forms with government agencies

We are looking for someone who:

Has a university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA Designation, or working towards High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is required 5+ years' experience working within the Accounting/Finance Department 3+ years' experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills and exposure to working with large amounts of data Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work Self-starter with excellent verbal and communications skills Possess strong analytical, critical thinking and judgment skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the company. Knowledge and experience in ERP or MRP business system, with JD Edwards experience preferred Experience using query writing software/tools is considered an asset

What we offer you:

Typical pay is $59,000.00 to $81,000.00 annually.
