Position





Senior Specialist, Fuel Management, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure





Reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities



Oversee the proper handling, storage, and offloading of fuel, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Prepare fuel facilities and equipment for seasonal delivery campaigns, including winter ice road operations; Ensure storage and dispensing facilities are fully operational, scheduling regular safety and technical inspections. Implement daily housekeeping and maintenance practices, coordinating with the maintenance team to address issues; Develop and maintain comprehensive records of fuel deliveries, daily stock balances, discrepancies in product quantities and quality, and usage by different equipment types. Conduct investigations into discrepancies and anomalies; Implement and manage the Fuel Management System, customizing reports with contractors, and utilizing the ERP system to instruct and train employees; Collaborate with HSE and ERT to implement efficient safety measures for fire accidents and other emergencies; Interpret and apply relevant laws, codes, regulations, and standards in fuel management; Create and implement policies and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the fuel depot; Ensure fuel quality by sampling and testing at receipt and storage points; arrange lab testing as required; Verify that product certifications are valid and properly maintained; and Ensure storage and dispensing facilities are operational, scheduling regular safety and technical inspections. Report any issues to the maintenance department and implement daily housekeeping practices.

Desired Competencies and Requirements



Seven (7) years' experience in fuel management, procurement, or logistics, preferably in mining, oil & gas, or Arctic environment including two (2) years' experience in overseeing Fuel attendants; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field; Professional certifications in supply chain (e.g., SCMP) or fuel management; Comprehensive understanding of laws, codes, regulations, and standards relevant to fuel management; and Proficiency in using Fuel Management Systems, ERP software and advanced Excel user is required

Compensation and Benefits





For informational purposes, the annual salary for the role is $150,000.00.
