Principal Responsibilitie

  • Support and oversee 1-2 project teams focused on the development of novel oncology therapeutics, and lead other corporate initiatives as needed.
  • Support Program Core Teams from research/lead selection, CMC, and IND-enabling studies thru clinical development to enable successful global development and commercialization.
  • Maintain detailed, integrated project plans, Gantts/timelines, status reports, strategic development & filing plans in collaboration with functional leaders and team members.
  • Regularly conduct gap analyses on plans to determine contingencies and missing elements.
  • Leverage knowledge of project management tools and best practices to drive effective execution and coordination across a multidisciplinary, cross-functional team and its sub teams.
  • Support program core teams by helping the Project Team Lead (PTL) to shape agendas with clear desired outcomes and/or identified single decision-makers, run effective meetings, and by capturing and communicating minutes & action items, scheduling meetings and follow-ups as needed.
  • Drive operational excellence in the delivery and execution of plans via tracking/monitoring key milestones/metrics and decision points, partnering closely with key cross-functional team members as needed.
  • Ensure quality, timeliness, and accuracy of program information, budget, and spend.
  • Keep project milestones on track, anticipating and communicating at-risk deliverables. Work with team members to proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Track and report on status/progress of deliverables, goals, and metrics
  • Monitor and track program spend and conduct analyses vs budget. Support annual budget cycle and long-range planning.
  • Ensures all decisions are assessed as to their risks and impacts. Accountable for communication to team and stakeholders in a transparent and timely manner.
  • Employ project management, coordination, and collaboration expertise in managing other cross functional projects and initiatives as needed, including but not limited to SR&ED documentation, budgeting, and long-range planning.
  • Drive, coordinate, and support the goals of projects using project management best practices and tools.
  • Together with Program Team Lead, leverage knowledge and experience to bring best practices to program management. Develop tools/templates to facilitate timely communication, execution, decision-making, and consistency between programs. Identify needs for process improvements, design solutions, and lead implementation.
  • Enable communication between project stakeholders. Provide an efficient and flexible collaborative environment to ensure team communication and collaboration.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
  • BS/BA in biology, biomedical sciences, or related field; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of equivalent experience
  • Direct experience in a similar Program/Project Manager role in a biopharma company, supporting R&D programs and their cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the use of project management, collaboration management, communication, and dashboard/reporting tools
  • Formal Project Management training and/or PMP certification
  • Experience in biologics and oncology therapy development strongly preferred
  • Experience with programs from lead optimization and pre-clinical thru to IND and into the clinic preferred.

Technical Expertise
  • MS Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc)
  • Smartsheets, MS Project or other equivalent PM software
