Your role
:
Medicago is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Corporate Project Management Office in order to support the growth of Medicago. The Sr. Project Manager will manage medium to large-size complex projects that make an organizational impact, spanning across various divisions of the organization which may include R&D, Operations and Corporate. The role requires proven track record of project management methodologies and skills, strong collaboration and communication skills and capacity to rapidely adapt to change. Working under minimum supervision is also a requirement of the position. In addition, this position requires strategic vision and ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The Sr. Project Manager will report to the Manager PMO.

What your days would look like:

  • Using best project management practices, manage and deliver large, complex projects and/or multiple smaller projects as per agreed project charter and project plan (scope, time, budget, resources and quality);
  • Work with Project Leader/Sponsor in meeting project objectives;
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and external stakeholders when applicable in delivering project in a global and regional matrix organization;
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and upper-level management;
  • Accountable for project management deliverables (project charters, project plans, etc.);
  • Accountable for project planning process including leading and facilitating the development of project plans with dependencies, milestones, risks, budgets, action plans, etc.;
  • Prepare and present progress reports and ensure the project is aligned with organizational goals;
  • Execute work based on predefined strategies, but can evaluate project risks and offer possible solutions;
  • Responsible for communication with external vendors and clients, including negotiating and influencing;
  • Participate in budgetary oversight of projects with Project Leader/Sponsor to meet project goals;
  • May mentor junior staff members and delegate project tasks based on their individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels;
  • Key participant in departmental projects, providing suggestions for implementation to achieve departmental or organizational goals;
  • Promotes project management culture in the organization. Can play a role of coach / mentor in project management.


Required profile:
  • University degree in a scientific or other related discipline;
  • 5 to 8+ years’ experience in pharma industry including 7+ years experience in project management;
  • Experience managing projects in a GMP / pharma manufacturing setting;
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, Excel, SharePoint and other standard business software applications;
  • Great leader/colleague/employee who exercises good judgment, promotes and lives Medicago’s values;
  • Well developed soft skills such as influencing, leading without authority and problem solving;
  • A self-motivated leader possessing strong planning and exceptional communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Experience in working with external vendors / collaborators / CMO’s;
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed.
