Job Summary: The Planner is responsible for the planning of packaging and indirect materials into each Pure Flavor location as well as determining the movement of materials between facilities to maintain necessary inventory levels. The Planner provides required movements to the Packaging Coordinators for execution, including Mexico for co-ordination with farms located in Mexico. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for planning packaging materials for use in production. Inventory at all locations (DC\xe2\x80\x99s, Farms, Growers, and Vendors) to be considered.
  • Work in concert with Packaging Co-ordinators to move materials between locations as required.
  • Ensure supply levels are properly maintained for all required materials to avoid low stock and overstock.
  • Ensure materials are available for production in all sites. This includes forecasting needs and inventory levels as well as min/max levels for appropriate materials.
  • Independently perform forecast evaluation/analysis in comparison with actual material consumption and make adjustments accordingly.
  • Work closely with the Packaging Engineer to understand and make adjustments for new packaging requirements (NPD, Packaging Changes, Customer Changes) and the impacts on required inventory levels.
  • Work closely with the Commodities, Sales, and MX Procurement/Grower Liaisons to determine pack volume, seasonal shifts, and periodic shifts when Commodities become under supplied by contracted Farms.
  • Support and implement Supply Chain best practices and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure all activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required by Manager and will vary depending on employee experience as well as production seasonality.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education is required; degree in purchasing, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of previous purchasing experience is required; experience in the produce/agriculture industry is ideal.
  • Demonstrated inventory management experience.
  • Advance proficiency in MS Excel required.
  • Dashboard reporting experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An attention to detail as well as analytical and planning skills are essential.
  • Must be a sound decision maker and able to work in a high stress environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP is beneficial.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is an asset

Work Environment:
  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; willingness and ability to travel, must have a valid passport with no restrictions
  • Conditions typically found in an office setting with occasional duties within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55\xc2\xb0F or in a greenhouse where temperatures range from 90-100\xc2\xb0F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation
  • Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting for prolonged periods is required.
  • The position may involve needing to lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.
