Our Team

The Senior OT Analyst adds to the disciplined approach in the short and long-term planning, designing, implementation and governance of Operations Technology (OT) and Automation solutions for the Copper Cliff Mine Complex. As part of a team the Senior OT Analyst contributes to the solid understanding of the relevant business processes of the OT/Automation industry to ensure that maximum value is achieved through these technologies.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior OT Analyst to join our Copper Cliff Mine Complex in Sudbury, ON. This is a permanent onsite position.

The OT and Automation Analyst will maximize the value of our existing automation investment, deliver and support new solutions that meet the needs of the Copper Cliff Mine Complex. The scope of Automation includes but is not limited to DCS\xe2\x80\x99s, PLC\xe2\x80\x99s, HMI\xe2\x80\x99s, Expert Systems, Autonomous Equipment, VOD, Process Monitoring and Analyzers, and supporting infrastructure.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Stay current with the OT and Automation industry existing solutions and emerging trends.
  • Work with engineers to identify opportunities where new technologies and improvements to existing solutions can add value to the business.
  • Design new OT and Automation solutions and major modification to existing solutions.
  • Develop, execute and maintain lifecycle roadmaps.
  • Ensure the plant Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) team is appropriately trained for all new and existing OT and Automation solutions.
  • Analyze existing systems for improvement opportunities and work with the plant E&I team to implement.
  • Provide Level III escalation support to the Plant E&I team in the analysis, resolution and root cause determination of system issues.
  • Provide support in the oversight of relevant vendor contracts.
  • Implement control logic, commission new equipment, improve operator interface and manage alarms effectively, in both DCS and PLC, working with operations and maintenance teams for the highest plant performance.
  • Assist with executing tasks and departmental procedures related to the health and cybersecurity of the system and network.
  • Governance in the automation (OT) environment, executing and managing (including other teams\xe2\x80\x99) modifications in the control systems.
  • Be an integral part of support and troubleshooting within the automation environment for maintenance, operations, process and technology teams.
About You

Education:
  • Technical college or university degree related to automation field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of automation industry.
  • Experience in mining industry.
  • Experience in implementing automation solutions and troubleshooting automation issues.
  • Decision making based on best practices and benefits to the business.
  • Must have strong organization, systematic and time management skills.
  • Takes initiative and is self-directed to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
