Job Title Sr. Manager, Regulatory Compliance



What is the opportunity?

The role of Sr. Manager, Regulatory and Compliance will provide first line regulatory and compliance risk support for Personal Banking and Investments.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for regulatory and compliance solutions that balance business priorities and regulatory risks for business-driven and other compliance-related projects.
  • Contributes and promotes the identification and implementation of changes to meet provincial and federal mandates.
  • Owns the evaluation and documentation of internal controls and risk procedures required to meet regulatory and compliance changes and reviews.
  • Direct regulatory and compliance remediations, as required by providing leadership and assistance to stakeholders on escalated production issues impacting legal or regulatory obligations, and ensure that such issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a responsive and proactive manner.
  • Proactively, help drive initiatives forward, and provide support, coordinate with partners, flag risks and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for policy management and regulatory/legal documentation.
  • Supports the Director, Banking and Payments Regulatory Compliance in providing first line regulatory and compliance oversight within Personal Banking and Investments.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:
  • University degree, professional designation, graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of personal and commercial banking experience.
  • Ability to converse effectively and diplomatically with individuals at all levels.
  • Innovative self-starter who works well under pressure.
Nice to have:
  • Good understanding of RBC's corporate structure and regulatory landscape
  • Subject matter expertise in regulatory requirements, internal controls and strong control evaluation capabilities
  • Experience working in close partnership with stakeholders at various levels
