The Opportunity
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a talented Labour Relations professional to join our team. As Senior Labour Relations Manager, you will lead the development and execution of labour relations strategies across Canada, ensuring business continuity and advancing operational needs. This role is pivotal in collective bargaining, grievance management, and maintaining positive relationships with union leadership.
What You'll DoLead collective bargaining activities and serve as Chief Negotiator for contract negotiations.
Develop and execute strategies for grievances, arbitrations, and contract administration.
Advise managers and HR Business Partners on collective agreement interpretation and application.
Monitor labour trends, anticipate changes, and act as a facilitator for internal and external labour relations.
Represent the company in mediations, hearings, and industry committees.
Promote dialogue across business units to align labour strategies and mitigate risks.
Train and educate leaders on labour relations best practices to minimize disputes and work stoppages.
What You Bring to Our TeamProven ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders, including union representatives.
Advanced negotiation skills and experience in multi-jurisdictional labour environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment in complex situations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High emotional intelligence and ability to manage conflict effectively.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in labour relations, collective bargaining, and union negotiations.
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Law, or related field.
Knowledge of Canadian labour laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
English proficiency required; basic French considered an asset.
