We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.The RoleAs a member of the Exploration Geoscience team, you will act as an internal technical specialist, providing expert level geological support, ensuring the highest quality of data acquisition, processing, and interpretation in exploration for economic uranium deposits.This role requires strong aptitudes as both an economic geologist and an explorationist. Applicants may bring technical specialties such as geochemistry or structural geology but should be well-rounded generalists in exploration geology and metallogenic systems.This position is a mixed role of field geology and office-based exploration support.This is a permanent full-time staff position based in Saskatoon.In this role, you will:

  • Conduct geological studies, including geology, structural geology, hydrothermal alteration, geochemistry, and mineral deposit studies
  • Provide technical geological support and collaborate as a member of our exploration project teams, including drill target selection, geological interpretations, geological map/section reviews and editing, report writing
  • Be responsible for training and mentoring of geological staff
  • Lead collaborative projects with the academic community and support internal and external research
  • Be responsible for generative evaluations and compilations
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the projects within our Exploration portfolio and their broader regional geology
  • Effectively communicate technical results and recommendations to a variety of audiences
  • Be committed to developing a strong safety and environment culture, promoting it through Cameco's safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) management systems
Required:
  • Graduate degree in geology or geological engineering
  • You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • At least ten years of geological experience with at least 4 years in mineral exploration
  • Ability to work in remote locations
  • Drill core logging for mineral exploration (preferably uranium)
  • Digital literacy with various office and geological software programs (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, Leapfrog, Geoscience ANALYST, acQuire, Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
Recommended:
  • Uranium exploration experience (preferably in the Athabasca Basin)
  • GIS and 3D geological modelling proficiency
  • Valid driver's license, first aid, ATV, watercraft, and/or snowmobile training
