Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for a candidate who thrives in dynamic environments and has a passion for driving financial efficiency and strategic decision-making. You will play a key role in managing budgets, analyzing financial data, and contributing to the success of a non-profit organization with a focus on housing and social determinants of health.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage financial planning and analysis processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic insights and value-added financial guidance.
  • Manage an $8 million housing portfolio, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of financial performance.
  • Collaborate with funding partners, including the Ministry of Health and the City of Toronto, to ensure compliance with financial agreements.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of subsidies, rental income, and government funding to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Prepare financial reports using tools such as Crystal Reports and Confluence to support decision-making.
  • Implement data mining techniques to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
  • Enhance business systems and processes to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of housing-related initiatives and emergency services programs.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP& A), preferably in a non-profit or housing-related sector.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in CRM systems, Crystal Reports, and data mining techniques.
  • Solid understanding of accounting functions, auditing processes, and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage capital and optimize financial resources.
  • Excellent business partnering skills with the ability to provide strategic financial insights.
  • Familiarity with government funding structures and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with business systems and enhancing financial processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
