Job Summary:





The Sr. Software Engineer will work closely with development and project teams to design, build, and deploy high-quality solutions. This role involves active participation in client implementation projects, developing robust and secure code, and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, contributes to project success, and ensures solutions meet both technical and business needs.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Design, build, test, implement, and maintain applications using established languages, DBMS, and development tools. Analyze application and program requirements, and develop robust, scalable program code. Translate business and system requirements into detailed technical specifications and system designs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications. Run unit tests to validate programs against requirements and designs. Ensure all code complies with security and quality standards. Follow standards for programming, deployment, and project delivery. Contribute to project planning, execution, and delivery as part of cross-functional teams.

Education and Experience:



Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field. At least 2 years of relevant software development experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, and UNIX Bash scripting. Experience with Git; Oracle OCI (Cloud) is an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Highly motivated, collaborative, and a strong team player. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Prior experience in the pension or financial services industry is an asset.


Work Environment:



This is remote position Must be available during core hours

Physical Demands:



Must be able to remain seated for extended periods. Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines. Occasional movement around the office. Frequent communication via telephone.
