Working for Pembina means working safely.Overview:Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting a Sr. Engineer, Pipeline Integrity based out of the Calgary office. This position reports to the Supervisor, Pipeline Integrity Assessments, part of Pembina\'s Technical Services Unit (TSU).On behalf of Pembina\'s Business Units, TSU manages a comprehensive integrity management program, which includes Facility Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, Geotechnical, Corrosion Control, Asset Management and Product Quality and Measurement.The Sr. Pipeline Integrity Engineer is responsible for technical analysis, fitness for service assessments, review of integrity threats, for pipeline projects initiated by Pembina\'s Operating Business Units. A key aspect to the role includes interfacing with operations, project teams, business development, internal audit teams, regulatory bodies for given geographical pipeline assets. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the successful delivery of projects that have a lasting impact on the energy industry and the communities we serve.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Execute engineering assessments to support pipeline status changes including but not limited to reactivations, flow reversals and pressure changes. Ensure all changes are properly managed through company\'s MOC processes and interface with all stakeholders including regulatory bodies;
  • Develop both annual integrity budgets and 10 year long range plans for pipeline integrity related programs, in conjunction with pipeline assessment team;
  • Conduct various integrity review meetings with Operations including, internal/external corrosion reviews, risk assessment reviews, program reviews and annual budget reviews;
  • Prepare and deliver pipeline integrity presentations and document summaries to business units and external customers on an as needed basis;
  • As part of fitness for service assessments, review ILI data analysis, technology selection, past digs performed, cathodic protection programs and internal corrosion programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and review third party crossing requests to determine impact of pipeline integrity and provide guidance;
  • Maintain continuous, up-to-date program and activity records and metrics;
  • Work closely with Pipeline Integrity and Operations staff, and various integrity vendors and consultants;
  • Support supply chain processes with vendors that provide integrity services;
  • Develop scope of work documents, review deliverables and manage performance; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Professional engineering degree or relevant technologist certification;
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience involving pipeline integrity;
  • Highly competent with pipeline integrity threat assessment, risk assessment and risk management through various mitigation and monitoring strategies;
  • Strong working knowledge of in-line inspection technologies and analysis using MFL, Geometry, IMU, and ultrasonic technologies;
  • Demonstrated competence in pipeline assessment, evaluation and repair of pipeline corrosion, cracking, and deformation;
  • Familiarity with pipeline lifecycle from design, operations, maintenance and abandonment;
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices, codes, standards and regulations in Canada and USA;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to critical think to solve complex multi-faceted problems considering both the business and engineering requirements;
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently given appropriate guidance, and able to prioritize multiple tasks on tight deadlines;
  • Willing to travel throughout Pembina\'s pipeline asset locations (approximately 10%); and
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver\'s license.
