The Group is seeking a Senior Civil-Structural Engineer to join a team dedicated to studies primarily for hydroelectric projects.

As a Civil-Structural Engineer, you will work within the engineering team of the Clean Energy Business Unit for the analysis, design and rehabilitation of structures for various dams, hydraulic structures, buildings and bridges projects in the hydroelectric field.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Develop a strong understanding of each contract\xe2\x80\x99s scope/specifications/Issued for Construction Drawings and contractor prepared drawings/submittals, to ensure each contractor\xe2\x80\x99s work activities are completed in conformance with the contract and design/approved work methods.
• Use construction experience to proactively anticipate, identify and assist with the mitigation of contractor interfaces and/or related construction risks.
• Be a leader in working safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work;
• Involve conceptual, preliminary and/or detailed design of structural systems involving steel, reinforcing concrete, or masonry elements;
• Perform structural and seismic analysis including both static and dynamic analysis, and produce analysis report;
• Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters;
• Perform field walkdowns during different design phases as required;
• Assist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions, lifting plan, commissioning, etc.; and
• Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.

What will you contribute?

• Civil-structural engineer 15+ years of experience focused on steel and reinforced concrete design heavy industrial projects, registered or be eligible for EGBC P.Eng registration.
• Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements;
• Prepare engineering computations and analyses using applicable software program (e.g., SAP2000, CSiCol, ANSYS, etc.);
• Applying good mathematical, scientific and critical reasoning skills, quantitative, problem-solving abilities, paid attention to details;
• Detailed design and drawings development, technical specification writing, shop drawings review, preparing reports, designs and drawings
• Making and reviewing calculations structural design calculations,
• Selecting appropriate construction materials, providing technical advice, monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by other engineers and designers;
• Providing excellent verbal communication skills;
• Review and signed off on quality control/assurance documentation relating to the contractor witness and hold points as required by contract documents, IFC drawings and ITP\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Experience in hydropower industry will be considered as a great asset specifically focusing on the design of water conveyances, open channels, tunnels, penstocks, intakes, and water outlet structures and lining systems.
