POSITION SUMMARY


The Sr Digital Assembly Operator develops final, high-resolution, print-ready or pre-media output digital files for intermediate to advanced production assignments. Under the direction of the client project team, this position assembles digital files incorporating the completed images from the Color & Retouching team and the packaging layouts from the Production Artists team per client\xe2\x80\x99s/printer technical specifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Attends any client meetings (e.g. pre-production) as necessary.
  • Ensures high quality standards in all Production client deliverables.
  • Ensures accurate, consistent, and high-quality printing of basic to intermediate level final print or pre-media artwork files effectively using industry standard software, tools, and pre-press and print techniques such as:
  • Preparing files to send to the Raster Image Processor (RIP)
  • Trapping, bleeding of assembled files
  • Application of printer marks (i.e. mandatories, etc.)
  • Application of color rotation, line screen
  • Production of final printer files
  • Performs assigned tasks within the overall production workflow and assigned budget, according to work order specifications, industry and company Standard Operating Procedures, (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s), and the client\xe2\x80\x99s brand guidelines and standards.
  • Ensures client project team has most current information about the status of the assigned project(s) by logging and maintaining in project tracking system accurate records of: project plan (sub-project or task) information, time dedicated to specific project(s) and/or quality issues.
  • Meets quality standards at all times for all assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to management for improvements in reports, tools, processes and assigned tasks.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Graphic Arts or related field
  • 5+ years of previous graphic arts experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
