At Powerloop we empower people! Powerloop is an employee-owned Engineering Consulting firm serving Western Canada. We specialize in transportation and utility infrastructure projects. We provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for municipal, provincial, public utility and industrial sector clients.

Opportunity:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the senior designer will provide design support and technical leadership I the delivery of infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

Prepare design and draft drawings for power distribution, streetlighting, traffic signal projects. Prepare lighting design models and complete calculations using design software such as AGi32. Electrical load estimation, service sizing, conduit sizing and other calculations to comply with CEC. Provide quantity take offs from design drawings for cost estimation. Review shop drawings for engineered equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and codes. Design coordination with customers, municipal authorities, utilities & various project stakeholders Undertake pre-design site investigation, liaise with customers, contractors, municipal authorities, and client representatives

Qualifications:

2 year technology diploma or equivalent in civil or electrical engineering 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design CET designation is an asset. Experience developing design drawings for infrastructure projects. Be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision Must have a valid Driver's License Proficiency in AutoCAD (2016 or newer); MicroStation (V8 or newer); AGi32

Nice to have

Understanding of traffic signal design and operational requirements. Understanding of streetlighting design requirements and IES design guides. Understanding and ability to produce designs compliant with CEC and client standards. Experience with Pole CAD, SPIDA Calc, PullPLanner and other design tools.

Pay: $52,798.58-$154,164.67 per year
