What is the opportunity?

Join an innovative team that is accelerating public cloud adoption at RBC! We are looking for a passionate and creative Sr. Cloud Engineer who is excited about problem solving and working with the latest technologies.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll be joining a team that is passionate about what we\xe2\x80\x99re doing. As a member of the team, you will be working with SREs, Platform Engineers, Architects, and Security Professionals, through your contributions and by participating in a support on-call rotation.

What will you do?

  • Work as part of the team managing our public cloud environments (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform), including setup, management, and troubleshooting
  • Design and build highly scalable, secure, and highly available architectures
  • Fearlessly face challenging technical problems, use your superpowers to solve them, and help your peers by sharing your unique solutions
  • Write code and scripts to automate infrastructure and other common workflows
  • Manage & support our centralized logging platform
  • Provide mentorship and training to other team members on technologies and processes; drive education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical practices, and relevant technologies and tools
  • Keep customers informed by providing budget and cost usage via dashboards, reports, and alerts, while providing information and recommendations on cost optimization opportunities
  • Work flexible hours when necessary and be part of an 24/7 on-call rotation
What do you need to succeed?

Must Have
  • Experience with Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as Code
  • Proficiency with any public cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) services and infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience working with one or more of: Python, GO, groovy, Java
  • A passion for making developers more efficient through DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Intermediate experience with the operational aspects of systems such as monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting with relevant tools (Ex. Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic, ELK, Sumo Logic, Cost Tooling)

  • A good understanding of modern, cloud centric architectures and DevOps principles
  • An aptitude for learning and solutions design
  • Above average performance. You are competitive and passionate. You thrive on challenge and have a proven ability to set ambitious but achievable goals and surpass them
