Position Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the purchase of capital equipment and services in support of the $4.0 billion in capital spend forecasted for the McCain Foods company through fiscal year 2025 with particular focus on projects executed within North America.
Primary responsibilities include:
Development, Documentation, and Execution of facility & project procurement plans in close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders for a portfolio of capital projects within North America
Leading execution of procurement activities including but not limited to:
Procurement/Sourcing Plans by project
RFI/RFP/RFQ
Analysis of supplier proposals and comparison/ranking to facilitate supplier selection decisions
Negotiation of contract commercial terms and conditions with suppliers
Drafting, Reviewing & Submitting Business Award Recommendations (BARs) for senior leadership approval of supplier selection & rationale.
Manager relationships with key suppliers, critical to project success, including proactive monitoring performance vs. expectations and intervening when necessary
Coordinating and managing project procurement activities to support critical project success factors (safety, budget, schedule, quality deliverables)
Monthly reporting of procurement value delivery for procurement activities executed
The role will also begin to develop and execute purchasing strategies with a focus on driving business needs and commercial results for the company. This includes gaining commitment from key stakeholders particularly Engineering and Supply Chain leadership to execute as appropriate. Key stakeholder relationships to manage include:
Communications and Interactions ? The person will manage multiple internal and external organizational relationships. They will be a key contributor of the overall supplier relationship strategy for the project(s) ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers by reinforcing policy, ethics and our strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments. The person will need to engage the Engineering, manufacturing/supply chain and Finance/legal organizations in the development and execution of procurement plans and strategies to support capital project execution plans.
Travel anticipated at 10-20%, primarily within North America, once COVID 19 travel restrictions are lessened. There may be the need for an occasional conference call outside of traditional work hours.

Drive cost focused strategy for the Capital spend area
Lead execution and development of sourcing plans (and associated RFQ/RFP/negotiations) for delivery of best value capital project spend and successful execution (safety, quality, budget, schedule)
Driving Procurement Value Delivery (Cost Reduction)

Engage the Regional Engineering organization in development of capital plans and supplier relationship & performance management

Support supplier relationship program for the relative markets to deliver significant value for McCain Foods

Engage Global Capital Procurement team with regards to Global strategy and supplier relationship management
5.
Ensure company purchases in the spend pool comply with company internal controls requirements
6.
Build personal capability through procurement core skills coaching and training
Qualifications:
Academic:
Must have Bachelor?s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business
Nice to have: Master?s Degree
Professional/Technical Accreditations:
Must have: Nice to have: Related Work Experience (Internal to the organization or external):
Minimum 2-4 years procurement and/or engineering/project management experience preferably in the capital spend area
