From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.About the RoleThis role is a manufacturing engineering contact person focused on supporting manufacturing processes/technology for existing / new manufacturing processes flow and operational excellence. Working in a cross-functional team with production, manufacturing engineering, materials and procurement, this person is responsible for developing and improving the flow of WESCAM product in the factory, in accordance with lean principles and quality standards. This person will support day-to-day support from the ops engineering standpoint as well embrace continuous improvement culture.Primary Responsibilities

  • Point of contact on Manufacturing Engineering issues
  • Support and maintain existing manufacturing processes and procedures, as well as supporting documentation
  • Support root cause investigations on production failures and customer returns
  • Support translation of product specifications from Engineering to Manufacturing requirements
  • Specify and source process and/or test equipment to improve manufacturing capabilities
  • Assist Procurement, Design, Material and QA departments in vendor audits, root cause investigations and technical support
  • Continually monitor processes and make continuous improvement recommendations
  • Work with Engineering in the NPI process to ensure smooth transition of newly developed products into manufacturing
  • Conduct training sessions to technical audience based on new processes/principles
  • Undertake and update various projects simultaneously, based on priority set by manager, while having the ability to bring projects to closure in a timely fashion
Desired Education and Experiences
  • Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-3 yrs. direct work experience in a high tech precision Manufacturing Engineering capacity
  • Highly energized, results orientated problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to change using a Continuous Improvement approach
  • Must be innovative, adaptable and resourceful.
