Reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Decision Support.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and execute Nutrien\'s corporate lookback review process on M&A and other growth investments, partnering with the Business Unit teams and/or Corporate Development teams to evaluate post-acquisition/integration performance against deal economics and key metrics and provide recommendations to leadership teams and the Board, promoting continuous improvement of our capital allocation strategy
  • Support the Sr. Manager with analysis required to evaluate and develop options on the short- and long-term compensation programs, analysis of key performance metrics, update quarterly performance reports, and assist with preparing material for the Board
  • Develop and maintain financial models related to Nutrien\'s valuation analysis and modeling leveraging the 5 Year Strategic Plan to support various valuation reviews including the annual goodwill and fixed asset reviews, replacement cost valuation, tax valuations and ad hoc requests
  • Develop effective reporting solutions and create driver-based financial models for scenario analysis to support senior leaders in making business decisions by providing useful analytics and data
  • Update quarterly external guidance, sensitivities and financial definitions for FP&A review and alignment
  • Financial variance analysis, trending, identifying cost drivers and other insights into financial results including how this affects future financial decisions for Nutrien
  • Investigate the impact of complex accounting matters on internal reports, provide recommendations and implement changes as required
  • Assist in the preparation of communication materials for senior leadership
  • Provide dynamic solutions for ad-hoc analysis requests requiring creativity, problem-solving and analytical skills
What you will bring:
  • A professional Accounting or Finance designation (CPA, CFA, CBV, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-6+ years of professional accounting or finance experience
  • Previous experience with valuation analysis, creating driver-based models, financial analysis and data analytics considered an asset
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate well with key stakeholders, peers, and team members in a proactive, positive and constructive manner
  • Self-starting attitude with a high energy level, demonstrated success in a fast-paced, multi-task, and deadline driven team environment
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint and Outlook, proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Excellent knowledge of SAP, Oracle and BPC systems would be considered an asset
  • Strong conceptual knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Experience in the application and interpretation of IFRS standards considered an asset
