:We are offering an opportunity for a Assistant Controller to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In this role, you will be responsible for various financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and contributing to our financial reporting processes.Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily reconciliation of sales with various systems to ensure proper recognition of revenue and collection of cash.

• Participate in monthly closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.

• Conduct variance analyses for select accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Investigate discrepancies and provide analysis as requested, contributing to the management information requirements.

• Contribute to the improvement of current processes, including controls and automation.

• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.

• Maintain detailed operating procedures on all tasks and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal quality controls.

• Prepare and file monthly tax returns in accordance with tax legislation.

• Manage and maintain the fixed asset subledger; including additions, disposals, transfers, and amortization.

• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

• Demonstrate leadership through the company\'s brand values.

• Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller

• Strong skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation are essential

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is required

• Experience in managing General Ledger is a must

• Proficiency in Journal Entries is expected

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Experience with Month End Close is required

• Must have experience in Month-end Close Activities

• Proficiency in Month-end Journal Entries is necessary

• Experience in Annual Financial Reporting is required

• Must have skills in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)
