Job Description

Our client, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to handle full-cycle accounting for their operations. This position requires hands-on accounting expertise, SOX compliance knowledge, and strong financial reporting skills within stringent timelines.Key Responsibilities:

• Month-End Close: Execute month-end procedures, prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and finalize financial results.
• Cash & General Accounting: Perform weekly bank reconciliations, manage cash applications, reconcile general ledger accounts, and handle accruals and prepayments.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file HST/GST and Sales & Use tax while supporting quarterly tax provisions.
• Audit Support: Ensure SOX compliance and assist with internal/external audits.
• Variance Analysis: Present monthly variance analysis with commentary
• Technical Accounting: Strong understanding of debits and credits and how entries effect financial statements.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. Familiarity with SOX compliance and public company processes preferred.
• Skills: Strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, advanced MS Office skills and ability to work within a manual environment.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Effective communicator, team player, self-starter, and problem-solver with the ability to meet stringent deadlines.
