The Squash Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of all squash programming at Urban Squash Toronto (UST). Reporting to the Squash & Community Director, this role focuses on coaching, coordinating daily sessions, and assisting with tournaments, events, and student development. The Squash Coordinator will help foster a positive and engaging environment for UST students while ensuring program quality and alignment with UST's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and delivery of UST's daily squash sessions, ensuring programming is age-appropriate and aligned with student development goals.
Support tournament and event coordination, including logistics, communication with parents/guardians, and student supervision.
Collaborate with the Squash & Community Director to develop individualized student squash development plans.
Track student progress in squash skill development, participation, and tournament involvement.
Maintain squash courts and equipment, ensuring safe and high-quality playing conditions.
Supervise students during afterschool, weekend, and summer programming, serving as a role model both on and off the court.
Work collaboratively with UST staff to integrate squash programming into the broader educational and community mission.
Perform other squash-related tasks as assigned by the Squash & Community Director and Executive Director
Qualifications:
Experience coaching and playing squash at various levels.
Experience working with youth in a non-profit setting, fundraising, or community outreach is preferred
Squash coaching certification (NCCP, or willingness to pursue) and connection to the squash community are assets.
Ability to run squash events/tournaments without supervision
Passion for working with youth and to create a long-lasting change in their lives and the community in which they live
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills; comfort with data tracking and goal setting with a willingness and desire to engage with diverse stakeholders is critical
Must be able to travel with students, on occasion to the United States.
Hours:
General hours are Monday through Friday 10am-6pm, though adjustments are necessary on occasion due to community events, tournaments, and summer camps. The position entails weekend work and travel - particularly for tournaments during the school year.
