Come join a dynamic, fast-paced, growing entrepreneurial company looking for an energetic Sports Reporter with a passion for community, sports and news. The ideal candidate will have a distinct willingness to cover local sports, community events, and to engage with the community on social media through writing articles for these three print local weekly community newspapers and managing social media pages. Duties & Responsibilities - Produce multiple sports stories and bylines each week (some general stories may be required on occasion. - Generate story ideas and follow up on news tips - Coordinate and edit content and columns submitted for publication - Take photographs at events covered - Post links to stories on Facebook and Twitter once a week for one publication - Some evenings and weekends, as required and per game schedule - Some other light duties on managing the social media pages for these papers Qualifications - Diploma or degree in journalism preferred - Candidates should have experience working on the editorial side of the newspaper industry - Excellent and demonstrated writing, editing and photography skills - Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a reliable vehicle - Sports reporting experience an asset - An interest in local sports is a necessity, as the majority of the writing for this role will be related to local sports events in Aurora, King Township, and Caledon Job Type: Full-time Salary: $36,000.00-$42,000.00 per year Benefits:
