Job Description


Key Responsibilities Administrative

  • Sourcing new sponsorship sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Research and identify key players and generate interest
  • Create new sponsorship opportunities
  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Route qualified opportunities to the Director of Sponsorship for further development and closure
  • Assist with festival marketing campaign, promotions/contesting and ensure sponsors are properly represented and integrated
  • Assist with sponsorship executions (activation logistics, branding, signage, tickets, hosting etc.)
  • Assist with sales of VIP Hospitality Suites on site
  • Work with festival volunteers in Hospitality areas
  • Assist with post event reports for sponsors
Day to day
  • Prospecting/sales for new sponsors Onsite/Event Coordination
  • Assist with sponsorship deal executions
  • Assist with sponsor activations kiosk;
  • Provide support to sponsors on site, troubleshoot day to day operations across all sponsorship program;
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven sales experience
  • Experience in sponsorship
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
  • High customer service qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
Attractive Qualities
  • Event management experience, knowledge of Ottawa Bluesfest and CityFolk an asset;
  • Success in multi-tasking in a high pressure environment
  • Understand social media platforms
  • Knowledge of basic principles of marketing and advertising
  • Good judgement, attention to detail, a positive attitude and flexible nature;
  • Post-secondary education in administration, fundraising, community development, marketing an asset;
  • Bilingualism an asset.
Work Environment This position is remote work with some in office work required. The office is located at Festival House. During most of the year, regular office hours apply. Overtime may be required during busy months, (typically May and September) in preparation for festival launch, special events, and festival operations. For the duration of both Bluesfest and CityFolk 12-15 hour days are expected, mostly outdoors in all types of weather, with up to 5 km of walking required on a daily basis. Job Type: Fixed term contract Salary: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year Benefits:
