Job Summary

The Team

Serving diverse communities across the Okanagan and West Kootenay regions, our CYMH teams provide comprehensive mental health services that are tailored to local needs. We work collaboratively with Indigenous communities, schools, and health authorities to deliver culturally informed, client-centered care.

The Role

As a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician, you'll support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0-18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you'll collaborate with professionals including educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered. + NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:


Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience. Preference may be given to applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.




WILLINGNESS STATEMENTS/PROVISOS


You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license (note - if you currently have a valid driver's license in Canada, and if you are the successful applicant, you must acquire a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license immediately). May be required to work evening/weekends. May be required to travel to remote locations. May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis. May be required to work with families and children and youth who are distressed and facing challenges which may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant situations or behaviour with angry, abusive, or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around parents and/or children in crisis who may display volatile behaviour.
