Apex Educational Consulting Services Inc. (AECS) is seeking Speech Language Pathologists to join our team and provide Speech and Language Pathology services to individuals diagnosed with autism. In this role, you will work directly with clients to assess and implement speech and language intervention plans to enhance their overall quality of life. You will collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals, when applicable, to track progress, adjust strategies as needed, and foster a positive, supportive environment. This is a hybrid position, with in-person consultations and assessments in clients' homes preferred, but supervision of CDAs and/or SLPAs may be virtual.

Key Responsibilities:



Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and treatment sessions for children and youth diagnosed with Autism.

Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions with clients, implementing individualized programs focusing on speech, language, and communication.

Provide consultation services for caregivers and team members on communication strategies to promote generalization of skills outside of therapy sessions.

Prepare programs, program materials, and individualized visual supports.

Customize, troubleshoot, and implement intervention using AAC software.

Collect and analyze data on client progress, responses to interventions, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure effectiveness.

Collaborate with families and caregivers to provide training, support, and guidance on implementing evidence-based communication strategies in home, school, and community settings.

Supervise and work collaboratively with Communicative Disorders Assistants

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on client progress, treatment plans, session and supervision notes, and reports, ensuring compliance with agency policies and legal requirements.

Participate in team meetings to review client progress, discuss challenges, and collaborate on treatment planning with SLPs, BCBAs/RBAs, ABA therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications:



Masters' degree in Speech Language Pathology and a registered member in good standing with CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario)

Knowledge of behavioral principles and ABA techniques, including data collection, functional behavior assessments, and intervention strategies is an asset.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and team members.

Proficient in Word and Excel

Ability to work independently and as part of a team and collaborating with other professionals.

Experience Supervising Communicative Disorders Assistants registered with CDAAC

Experience working with clients using AAC systems and providing intervention using low-tech and high-tech AAC

Experience training caregivers and professionals on best practices for AAC implementation

Job Types: Casual, Freelance

Pay: $80.00-$120.00 per hour
