Speech Language Pathologist
in our Peterborough location

In this position, you will provide in-centre, school based, purchased rehabilitation services and/or a combination of these services. You will provide assessment, training and consultation for clients with therapy needs as well as consultation, training and/or education to caregivers and other professionals. You will have the opportunity to participate as a member of the discipline, clinical multidisciplinary and resource committees to promote quality service for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assessment and reassessment of clients with speech, language, feeding, fluency, nasality and/or voice therapy.
Provide service plan for client care (including training, recommendations and discharge) in consultation with the client's caregiving team (including family, primary therapists, school and other agencies).
Lead facilitator training workshops.
Authorize low tech equipment through the Communication Aides category of the Assistive Devices Program of the Ministry of Health.
Supervise Communicative Disorders Assistants
What You Bring:
Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
Paediatric, in-centre and school-based rehabilitation service experience considered an asset, but not required.
Ability to read and speak French and provide virtual therapy is an asset.
The demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with FCCC staff and with community partners, agencies and professionals in the community.
Experience and understanding of a Family Centred Care model of service delivery.
Solution Focused Coaching training is considered an asset.
Experience working with clients/families with ASD and the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) considered an asset.
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work as part of a team with professionals, support staff, and other community agencies.
Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to a variety of locations.
Clear vulnerable sector check and proof of updated immunizations including COVID-19 (two doses).
