Speech Language Pathologist

Halifax, NS, CA, Canada

Job Description

Company description

Spirit Psychological is a private psychological practice that prides itself on the care of its clients, big and small. We are a multidisciplinary team comprised of psychologists, speech-language pathologists, behaviour interventionists, learning strategists and counselling therapists. Our services include: psychoeducational/post-secondary/ career assessments, counselling/therapy, speech-language assessment and intervention for all ages and practical, collaborative in-home behavior intervention. Seeking to help across the lifespan, we accompany our clients through challenges to wellness, skillfully advocating for their needs using our years of experience in both educational and health systems.

Job description

Spirit Psychological is seeking a part-time speech-language pathologist to continue an existing and growing caseload served by our current speech-language pathologist. As there is an existing caseload as well as a list of clients awaiting service, the position would begin as soon as possible and has the potential to grow into a full-time position in the future.

A key member of the Spirit team, you would be responsible for providing a full-range of speech-language services including assessment, consultation and therapy/intervention to individuals and possibly small groups. Knowing the limits of your competencies, an ability to multi-task and a sense of empathy for all persons and situations are skills essential to this position.

In return, you will be provided with all assessment tools (on-line, paper), therapy items and space to work that you require in order to meet the needs of your clients. At times, due to weather and/or at a client's request, you may choose to work from home in an on-line environment. The bulk of your work and preparation, however, will be completed in our dedicated SLP space within the clinic itself.

If you are a person who possesses a personal ability to maintain a positive and calm energy in a busy, multi-age practice and who loves to learn and collaborate with others, our team environment is for you!

Spirit uses a secure on-line platform for scheduling, billing, client document storage and on-line video sessions as needed (CPA-endorsed, OwlPractice). You will also have access to an administrative assistant on site to assist as needed.

We have many other members of our team who are part-time - we are open to both new graduates and those with full-time employment outside of our office.
