Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital setting, particularly in acute care, and will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating kids with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to develop effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech and language abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing function. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure holistic patient care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes. Educate patients and their families about speech therapy techniques and home exercises. Stay updated on current research and best practices in speech therapy.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Therapist. Previous hospital experience is preferred, particularly in acute care settings. Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech therapy and patient care. Experience in pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in case management tasks.
