ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will join a dynamic interprofessional team dedicated to delivering high-intensity, time-limited rehabilitation for clients living with complex neurological conditions. Our collaborative team includes Physiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nursing staff, Rehabilitation Assistants, Social Workers, Dietitians, and Spiritual Care Associates, with access to psychological support when needed. You will support clients (primarily those recovering from stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other neurological diagnoses) through individualized assessment, evidence-based intervention, and collaborative care planning. Working closely with Home and Community Care Support Services, you will facilitate seamless transitions back into the community with appropriate ongoing supports, making a meaningful difference in each client's recovery journey.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:


Master's degree or equivalent in Communicative Disorders Maintains active registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) Encouraged to be a member of the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA) and/or the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA)




Skills/Abilities:


Ability to manage a clinical practice in a health care setting Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to work independently, interdependently, and participate as a contributing member of a variety of teams within the workplace, community, and ministries/agencies Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information Interest/experience in Quality Improvement and Outcome Measurement Demonstrated regular attendance at work




Assets:


Experience in dysphagia assessment and management is an asset Experience with videofluoroscopic swallow study an asset Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication is an asset
