The plan may include goals related to speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication, and pragmatic skills.Speech and Language Therapy: Direct client therapy sessions to address the child\'s speech and language difficulties. This may involve activities and exercises to improve articulation, phonological skills, vocabulary development, sentence structure, and pragmatic language skills.Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): For children with limited verbal communication skills, the speech therapist may introduce and implement AAC systems, such as picture exchange communication systems (PECS), sign language, or assistive technology devices, to enhance their ability to express themselves.Social Communication Skills: The SLP will work on improving the child\'s ability to initiate and maintain conversations, understand non-verbal cues, take turns, and engage in appropriate social interactions.Parent and Caregiver Education: The SLP will provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers, helping them understand the child\'s communication challenges and teaching them strategies to facilitate communication at home and in other environments.Collaborating with Other Professionals: Working part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other professionals such as occupational therapists, psychologists, and Behavioural Therapists to provide comprehensive support to children with a range of needs.Qualifications:Registration with College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO),Master\'s degree in Speech Language Pathology or a health related field,Minimum 2 years of pediatric, in-center or school-based rehabilitation service experience preferred,Experience w. non-verbal learners and communication devices is required,Clear vulnerable sector check is required,Demonstrated experience and desire to work within an interdisciplinary team.Where permitted by law, company employees must be fully immunized to access a TELUS Health office or customer premises.Persons with disabilities who need accommodation in the application process or those needing job postings in an alternative format may e-mail a request to .By applying to this role, you understand and agree that your information will be shared with the TELUS Group of Companies\xe2\x80\x99 Talent Acquisition team(s) and/or any leader(s) who will be part of the selection process.
