Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in patients of various age groups, with a focus on pediatrics. This role requires collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate patients' speech and language abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and address swallowing disorders. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and effective case management. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with medical terminology standards. Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, treatment options, and strategies for improvement. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology.

Requirements



Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist. Experience working in pediatrics or acute care settings is preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to manage multiple cases effectively while providing high-quality patient care. Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to improving the quality of life for patients.
