Job Title: Gourmet Mushroom Farm - Farmers Market Sales

Location: Claremont, Uxbridge

Position Type: Part Time

Start Date: Last week of August, somewhat flexible.

We are looking for enthusiastic individual to run our farmers market booths at various markets - Newmarket, Uxbridge, Whitby most weekends and on Wednesdays until the end of October. Only applicants with a cover letter will be considered.

About Mushroom Meadows:

Mushroom Meadows is a vibrant, young agricultural business specializing in gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. Located in close proximity to the Greater Toronto Area, we pride ourselves on a farm-to-table approach, overseeing every stage of production from substrate preparation, inoculation, mycology / lab work, mushroom fruiting, and processing. Our goal is to be a model for young entrepreneurs in agriculture, demonstrating the viability of eco-friendly farming and contributing positively to our local ecosystem and economy.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic sales person. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fungi, with prior sales/ customer service experience and eager to be part of a growing business. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to our customers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Arrive early to the farm in Claremont to load your car with everything for market - tent, tables, product ect. Set up the market booth and arrange products Sales and customer service throughout the day Pack up the booth at the end of the day and unload back at the farm Some processing of mushrooms for sale, including sorting, cleaning, and packaging. Help in the preparation and assembly of mushroom grow kits. Participate in ongoing farmers market projects and initiatives to improve sales and customer experience
Qualifications:

Interest in agriculture, particularly mushroom cultivation. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions. Ability to lift 50 lbs routinely and ergonomically Team player with strong customer service skills. Punctual, Reliable and committed to high-quality standards. Previous experience in farming or horticulture is a plus, but not required. Own vehicle or reliable vehicle access is required

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
