Specialized Tutoring Academic Interventionist

Are you passionate about helping students with learning differences reach their full potential? We're seeking an Academic Interventionist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing evidence-based, individualized academic support under the supervision of clinical psychologists. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through both in-person and virtual work with diverse learners.

Contract Role - In-Person and Virtual Delivery

Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-on-one, structured academic interventions for students experiencing learning challenges.

Collaborate with clinical supervisors to design, implement, and monitor individualized learning plans.

Integrate assistive technologies and digital tools to promote student engagement and independence.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.

Participate in monthly consultation meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.

Uphold ethical and professional standards while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Required:

Master's degree (completed or in progress) in Education, Teaching, Psychology, or a related field.

Demonstrated knowledge of learning differences (e.g., LD, ADHD) and evidence-based interventions.

Familiarity with assistive technologies and digital learning tools.

Proficiency with video-conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom).

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students across a wide age range.

Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs.

Availability for 15-20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Commitment to accurate documentation and responsive supervision.

Capacity to implement structured, evidence-based programs with fidelity while personalizing instruction.

Preferred/Assets:

Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification.

Intermediate/Senior-level Mathematics experience.

Familiarity with Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM).

Prior experience working in clinical, tutoring, or intervention settings.

This in an hourly based contract position with a 3-month probationary period. The services are delivered primarily in-person, virtual sessions are assigned based on client needs/preferences. A valid Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
