About Potash

BHP\xe2\x80\x99s Jansen Potash Project, located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP\xe2\x80\x99s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP\xe2\x80\x99s global portfolio. Jansen\xe2\x80\x99s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.


Purpose



Reporting to the Lead, Training Deployment \xe2\x80\x93 Potash, the Specialist Training contributes to the training and assessment of operational roles and activities at the Jansen Mine.

About the Role



In this role, you will:
  • Design and deliver training plans, train and assess operators, and improve training programs to maintain safety, compliance and performance during mining operations
  • Conduct routine operational and safety activities to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload
  • Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP\'s risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience
  • Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste


Work Location



This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK with a rotational work schedule (specific schedule to be determined).

About You



Required
  • Experience in the mining industry is essential, with potash experience highly regarded
  • Passionate about training and development, taking pride in successfully communicating key messages to all levels of the audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring others, with an aptitude for creating strong relationships across the organization
Recommended
  • Adult Education Certificate
  • Emergency Response training
  • Supervisor Ticket from SK Mines Branch, or the qualifications to acquire one
Pivotal Experiences for the Role
  • Demonstrated experience with the development and administration of training and competency programs
  • Solid understanding of applicable Learning Management Software (BISTrainer, SuccessFactors)
  • Aptitude for delivering instructional experience, both online and instructor-led
  • Familiarity with SK Mine Regulations
  • Familiar with Foundations in Health & Safety
