This includes income and social supports, affordable housing, and early years and child care supports. Human Services works as part of the broader social services sector; collaborating with community partners, building capacity and providing funding to respond to the needs of people in our community.

Strategic Planning, Management and Evaluation (SPME) Unit, within the Social Development, Planning and Partnerships division in Human Services, provides evidence-informed support to the Human Services leadership team and the department to ensure programs and services address the needs of Peel residents. SPME functions include strategic planning (including the development of division, community-facing, and program plans), enhancing and enabling performance measurement for ongoing performance monitoring, conducting evaluations to understand impact, process and implementation, and supporting process improvements. SPME works with internal divisions in the Human Services department to advance a performance culture that enables the Human Services department to achieve their goals in the areas of Housing and Homelessness, Income and Social Support, Early Years & Child Care, and Community Investment.
