Join the Client Solution Team for CMHC\'s securitization business, where our partners view CMHC as the catalyst for solving housing affordability challenges. You will lead the development, implementation, calibration, documentation and maintenance of various quantitative analyses on general capital market and CMHC securitization data and drive insights discovery through the right combination of quantitative techniques, analytical expertise and use of a variety of technologies while ensuring integrity and accuracy of data. You will also deliver resulting business insights through appropriate tools based on the audience to support CMHC securitization product & policy development and risk management activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Employ qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, including scenario building, modelling of alternatives, etc., to provide assessments of policy options and expected outcomes.
  • Develop predictive models and analyze program, product and/or service performance with a variety of analytical tools.
  • Lead the analytical delivery cycle, including liaising with stakeholders and converting the business needs into strategic analytics while selecting the appropriate tools, methodologies and strategies that translate and interpret data into valuable business insights.
  • Provide data interpretation including relationships and trend analysis.
  • Develop indicators, scorecards and dashboards from environmental scanning, research and benchmarking exercises.
  • Create opportunities to improve report delivery including automation and self-service approaches.
  • Lead the preparation of briefs, reports, business cases and/or presentations based on research topics and analyses; present to senior level stakeholders, both internally and externally, as required.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets while ensuring data integrity, governance and accuracy.
  • Conduct effective testing and post-implementation reviews and calibrate the models as required.
  • Continuously monitor and report on the external operating environment with respect to guidelines, policies and practices which have an impact on internal standards and practices.
  • Perform analysis and report results with consideration for the various risks faced by CMHC (e.g., reputational, financial, operational, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, economics, finance, computer science, engineering or business intelligence.
  • Expertise in the standard Microsoft suite, R, Python and Power BI. Expertise in SAS a strong asset.
  • In-depth knowledge in fixed income markets, derivative products and financial risk analytics. Finance-related professional designations such as CFA or FRM a strong asset
  • Minimum of five years of prior relevant experience in the fields of mortgage finance, capital markets or financial risk analytics.
  • Sound analytical skills with demonstrated quantitative/qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills to capture and synthesize information and develop recommendations and provide advice.
  • Developed communication skills and the ability to make clear and concise presentations for decision-making.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build models required to understand issues at a detail level and forecast impacts of change.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in SAS.
  • Finance-related professional designations such as CFA or FRM.
