Cameco welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences to apply.Quality Assurance Specialist (2)Cameco Fuel ManufacturingPosition and ResponsibilitiesThere are currently (2) positions available, one in each of our Port Hope and Cobourg locations.As a member of the Quality Assurance team and reporting to the Quality Assurance Superintendent, this position acts as the customer representative to ensure that quality planning and execution takes place in a manner to ensure that product requirements and customer expectations are met. The role is involved in the development and deployment of defect prevention strategies and the quality assurance management program.Performance Expectations

  • Design and implement inspection and test strategies to demonstrate product conformance with specifications from incoming inspection through to finished goods.
  • Support the Quality Verification inspection team to ensure that inspections are designed and executed as planned.
  • Act as a signal point of customer communication for matters relating to product quality.
  • Participate or lead causal analysis and corrective action identification activities in response to manufacturing and customer concerns.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Superintendent in maintaining and improving the quality management system and its program documentation.
  • Conduct or participate in internal/external quality audits, including the creation of audit plans and reports.
  • Manage supplier selection, supplier quality plan approvals and assist with monitoring of supplier performance.
  • Provide regular status updates as required by customers and management.
  • Participate in change management and qualification activities for new products and process improvements.
Education and QualificationsRequirements of the position:
  • Post-secondary technical degree/diploma specializing in Engineering or related fields.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Quality Engineering role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience with APQP: Process Control Plans, PFMEA, and Metrology.
Assets:
  • Previous experience with nuclear quality assurance, particularly History Docket/File creation.
  • Working knowledge of ASTM, CSA N285, CSA N299, and ASME codes and standards.
  • Quality assurance certification such as ASQ CQT or CQE
  • Certification in causal analysis tools (Red X, Kepner-Tragoe etc)
