We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our T&D Procurement & Real Estate team in a temporary position. Reporting to the Procurement & Real Estate Director, you will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of category management plans on behalf of the two electric utilities.

As a Procurement Specialist you will:

  • Administer RFP events and support category strategies to achieve reduced costs, increased process efficiencies, and improved supplier performance.
  • Understand relevant market factors and how to account for them in supply chain strategies, to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures, and to integrate and optimize SaaS tools to enhance data use for improved strategic sourcing results.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives by providing critical analytical support to the Strategic Sourcing Managers.
  • Provide detailed analysis, advice, interpretation, and resource support by compiling and reviewing complex, multi-source operations, spend, contract, market information, trends and other related data and preparing associated reports.
  • Support the development and execution of category management plans on behalf of the two electric utilities.
What skills will make you successful?

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
  • Have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 3 years of progressive procurement, supply chain, contract development/ management, or operations experience.
  • An equivalent combination of business experience and education may also be considered.
  • Experience in technical buying, ideally within engineered services, construction services, materials or other electric utility categories would be considered an asset as is the technical ability to understand the operational aspects of assigned categories.
  • Strong business acumen skills such as forecasting, financial modelling and business case development are critical to the success in this role.
  • A team player and natural relationship builder, you are also results driven and possess great attention to detail. Advanced competencies in MS-Office tools, in particular Excel is required in the role and experience with MS-Project would be considered an asset.
