Starting Salary Range:
$55,000 - $59,000 annually. This is the starting base range for this role and may vary based on internal equity, and a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Over and above the base salary and the benefits highlighted above, this position is also eligible for an incentive bonus of up to 10% of the annual salary.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Data Marketing & Analytics, the Specialist of Email Marketing is responsible for facilitating Tourism Whistler's email marketing strategy. The Specialist, Email Marketing will coordinate the planning, development, distribution, and analysis of targeted email campaigns with an objective towards brand loyalty, customer retention, and sales revenue. Additionally, the Specialist will proactively grow, manage, cleanse and segment Tourism Whistler's subscriber list to improve overall program performance.
Key Responsibilities
Acts as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
Creates and manages email marketing campaigns in support of the Marketing Services and Central Reservations business departments
Works with Copywriter to coordinate special offers and messaging to reach targeted consumers within the Tourism Whistler database
Optimizes the current email program through improved subscriber acquisition, targeting, content creation, segmentation and personalization
Manages and develops email A/B tests, analyses campaign results including audience, offers, messaging, creative, deliverability, OR, CTR, conversion, revenue and retention
Proactively monitors and reports on marketing metrics (open rates/click-through/deliverability/etc.) and provides actionable campaign optimization insights based on campaign analysis
Maintains the consumer database, continually validating data, and integrating new data, analyzing and segmenting data for tailored sends, as well as identifying sales opportunities from the data
Supports Tourism Whistler's efforts in privacy compliance and in adherence to protocols around protection of information as it relates to database activities/initiatives - CASL
Develops campaigns with superior attention to detail, and under tight deadlines in coordination with other departments
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Passion and knowledge of Whistler, mountain resorts, and the tourism industry
Relevant Marketing degree or diploma, a minimum of 3 years' experience in email marketing, as well as experience in, or exposure to, a sales environment
Experience with HTML, GA4, and Photoshop, as well as advanced MS Office skills
Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
Knowledge of best practices for creating emails, dynamic content, quality assurance methodologies, data management, deliverability and CASL laws
Excellent logical reasoning and analytical skills to effectively assess and communicate metrics
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, changing environment
Experience with Acoustic Marketing Cloud an asset
