Summary

Corporate Services is at the centre of the action, providing the support that enables Bell\'s industry leadership. The Corporate Responsibility & Environment team aims at minimizing risk and creating business value by managing environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. We are the governance team responsible to ensure legal compliance, reduce business risks, set internal standards and targets, measure and report our performance, work with business units to reduce our environmental footprint and maintain our ISO 14001 and 50001 certifications. We are also responsible for setting Bell\'s ESG strategy and work with business units to implement it, report Bell\'s ESG performance and work with analysts to ensure recognition for our leadership.

Reporting to Bell\'s Corporate Responsibility and Environment\'s (CR&E) Senior Manager supervising environmental, social and governance (ESG) stakeholder engagement with customers, team members and society, the incumbent will be part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will collaborate with CR&E team members and Company business unit (BU) representatives to perform the following duties:

Portfolio management:

  • The incumbent will be responsible for the following programs in the company\'s ISO 14001 certified environmental management system (EMS):
  • Documentation: Manage the document revision and composition process, including ensuring that official documents are current; assisting document owners with quality-assurance; keeping the documentation matrix up to date
  • Sustainable Real Estate: Manage the sub-program for sustainable real-estate, including the water consumption program;
  • Responsible Procurement: Manage the environmental assessment process for new and existing suppliers, and collaborate to keep the company\'s Supplier Code of Conduct up to date
Reporting support:
  • The incumbent will provide support for information gathering and documentation for quarterly and annual performance reports, and program maturity assessments
Bell CR&E team duties:
  • Participate in the Specialist on Duty roster to support incident management program
  • Act as a liaison between CR&E and targeted BUs
  • Assist in composition of regular updates to Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Compliance committee; Audit Committee of the Board of Directors; and other groups
Critical Qualifications
  • University degree in a field relevant to the position together with graduate-level education in a related field, or a master\'s degree in environmental science, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both English and French
Preferred Qualifications
  • Well-organized and thorough in performing tasks
  • Able to analyze data
  • Autonomous, flexible and comfortable with tight deadlines
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Team spirit and collaboration skills
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts with the goal of converting policy, regulatory or other objectives into easily understandable language
  • Attention to detail, particularly with respect to writing/documentation
  • Motivated by producing environmental, social and governance benefits
