The Account Balancing team is one of Bench\'s Operations teams that is critical in helping to provide timely and accurate financial information to our customers. We\'re responsible for analyzing and correcting errors in the reported balances of client accounts once data is posted, this includes finding and rectifying errors that are preventing transactions from being imported into a customer\'s books. The work that you\'ll do in this team is key to ensuring the continued flow of bookkeeping completion for our clients on a consistent basis. What you\'ll get up to:

  • Documentation, data collection and data review.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Investigation and correction of account imbalances.
  • Minor bookkeeping adjustments.
  • Process Optimization.
  • Working across the bookkeeping teams.
  • Collaborate, communicate and help - this is a small, but mighty team, and you\'ll be expected to work closely with your teammates. You\'ll share best practices, help optimize processes, answer questions, be a sounding board and encourage each other.
What you\'ll need:
  • A basic understanding of bookkeeping principles.
  • A passion for working with numbers and a keen eye for detail.
  • Satisfaction in the completion of repetitive tasks as well as solving unique problems.
  • You love challenges and figuring out how to solve problems - you\'re comfortable creating plans to solve issues and move forward.
  • A love of learning and the drive to constantly improve processes and individual performance.
  • Strong organizational skills along with basic Excel and MacOS proficiency.
  • The ability to work independently and a level of comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to collaborate effectively with your colleagues.

What you\'ll get:
  • At Bench we share information freely and openly whenever possible. All Specialists joining the Account Balancing team will start at a base salary of $40,900. From there, with variable pay and a tax season bonus, the total annual earnings for the role are $45,900.

  • If you live in BC\'s Lower Mainland, you have the opportunity to work at home or in our downtown office location, depending on your preference! If you\'re interested in remote only, we currently focus our hiring efforts in the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

  • Regardless of how many days you decide to visit the office, you\'ll have access to our Home Office Setup Fund to ensure that you have everything you need to work comfortably from home, from day one.
  • You\'ll have the opportunity to work from somewhere other than your home province for up to 90 days per calendar year.
