Special Needs Teacher

Edmonton, AB, CA, Canada

Job Description

About E2 Academy

E2 Academy is more than just a K-12 school -- it's a community where twice-exceptional (2E) students can explore, belong, and thrive. These remarkable learners represent less than 2% of students province-wide, and E2 is one of only two schools in Alberta dedicated to their unique strengths and needs.

We offer a learner-centered, empirically grounded program with integrated supports that nurture independence, creativity, and self-advocacy. Our classrooms are lively, flexible spaces where curiosity, compassion, and critical thinking come together. We do not fix children, we help them adapt to a world that was not created with them in mind. Learn more at www.e2academy.com

The Opportunity

We are seeking a

creative, patient, and adaptable teacher

This is a full-time teaching position within our K-12 program. Grade assignment will be based on school needs and individual strengths -- we're more interested in the

Our ideal candidate brings structure with

flexibility, calm energy, curiosity, and an authentic commitment to helping neurodiverse learners grow

both academically and emotionally.

You might be a great fit if you:

Lead with empathy, humour, and patience -- especially when things get unpredictable. See behaviour as communication and respond with curiosity, not control. Thrive in a collaborative, team-teaching model with specialists and learning facilitators. Build predictable routines that help students feel safe, but keep space for creativity and student voice. Design engaging, real-world learning experiences that adapt to diverse interests and learning styles. Value relationships as the foundation for all learning. Use positive reinforcement, gentle structure, and restorative practices to support regulation and growth. Believe in learning that's inclusive, inquiry-based, and rooted in connection.
