Position Summary
We currently have an opportunity to join the Laurier community as a Special Constable at the Waterloo Campus.
The Special Constable is responsible for patrolling and forming partnerships within the University\'s multi-campus model. The Special Constable is responsible for a variety of duties related to the safety and security of their assigned campus. A responsive, community-focused approach is required to ensure that students, staff, faculty and facilities are safe, secure and at optimum levels.
The Special Constable will be involved in daily proactive patrols; campus community engagement, event safety attendance and deployment, participation at major events/protests/unsanctioned street gatherings such as Homecoming, St Patrick\'s Day and those additional duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Special Constable Service Sergeant and/or Management.
This position has a university-wide mandate. The incumbent provides subject matter expertise to all campuses, requiring regular interpersonal interactions and collaboration with departments in a multi-campus setting at Waterloo, Brantford and Milton Campuses and with external partners. Special attention is given to ensuring equitable service delivery across all locations.
