Job Description

Are you a person who is a self-starter, with a passion for working with a growing non-profit organization that supports Indigenous peoples experiencing homelessness? The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEHS) is seeking a SPAKEN House Manager to work with the Indigenous Street Community and support those who recently transitioned into culturally supportive housing.

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

$83,200 annually

Responsible for employee attendance management including timesheets, absences due to injury or illness, shift adjustments, calling out unfilled shifts and schedule vacancies and arranging last-minute shift coverage, and reviewing schedules in advance to identify potential upcoming issues.
Ensure that SPAKEN House is physically well-maintained, and that support staff are working in accordance with outlined policies and procedures such as room checks, and guest sign-in.
Responsible for the effective and supportive communication between staff, Family Members, community agencies and service providers, maintaining respectful, responsive working relationship with community service providers and partners.
Manage and oversee the program budgets ensuring the program is functioning within operating budget. Maintain and update tracking processes and have direct oversight of the purchasing and inventory at the house.
Facilitate regular staff meetings and meetings and house meetings with the Family MemberaEUR(TM)s (FM).
Respond to escalated concerns and complaints in a timely manner and ensuring appropriate incident forms are completed. Plan for and provide one-on-one support, advocacy, mentorship, and resources to the FM and familiarizing FM with various ACEHS programming, including the environment and guidelines for living communally
Complete intakes of new FM and coordinate the case-management of FM.
Evaluate the performance of employees at, including conducting probationary reviews, performance reviews, and identifying needs regarding personal and professional development. Orient new program participants in the program and services, including the transition to ACEHS Culturally Supportive Housing.
Advocate for FM needs for mental health, social, and cultural services
Work with the Human Resources team to communicate staffing requirements and participate in the onboarding process.

Experience

required

:





Minimum 2 years' experience in a manager position
Relevant post-secondary education and/or training may be considered in combination with a minimum of one-year managerial experience.
Experience with and knowledge of budget management. Experience or personal insights working cooperatively with people with disabilities, lived experience, and addictions considered an asset.
Experience working with non-profit organizations, family support, social services, and Indigenous support services and programs considered an asset
Required to consent to the Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check for Working with Vulnerable Adults
Valid First Aid Certification.
Naloxone Overdose Training and Certification Preferred Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification

Required to have class 5

driver's

license and working vehicle.
