PURPOSE

As a Sous Chef you will assist with leading the culinary operation under the direct leadership of the Executive Chef. The Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing the food production service, they coordinate the kitchen team in order to prepare, cook and present food according to hotel standard recipes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7 years of culinary experience.
• Formal culinary education an asset. Red seal qualification or International equivalent.
• Must supply own knives and have excellent knife handling skills
• Must be creative and passionate about the culinary arts with the ability to learn and adapt new techniques and styles as instructed.
• Excellent understanding of food cost, pricing and menus
• Excellent understanding of inventory control and ordering.
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Outgoing, friendly and positive.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate team members to ensure a well-balanced work environment.
• Level 2 Food Safe an asset
• First aid an asset.
