Responsibilities
maintain a positive work environment for all staff.
maintain an open mind to learning and directing new styles of prep and execution of service.
provide constructive leadership and direction to employees while ensuring they are held accountable to company standards.
run the line and call the pass throughout service.
strong ability to multitask and remain productive, efficient & calm in a fast-paced environment.
take customer orders in person and by phone at times
describe menu items in detail, receive payments both in cash and through electronic payment.
be able to maintain positive, friendly interactions with customers.
ability to work alone at times, confidently and productively.
maintain inventory levels, forecast business levels and place orders with suppliers.
assist in maintaining labour and food costs
food prep, follow recipes, make dry batters & dredges, mayonnaises, sauces and dressing from scratch.
precise butchery and breakdown of fish & protein.
menu development and understanding of food costing.
proper care and maintenance and deep cleaning of kitchen and equipment.
maintain the cleanliness & organisation of the kitchen, prep area, line and dish area.
performing beginning and end of day on POS systems and CC machines.
opening and closing of the restaurant.
attend kitchen meetings and provide input to streamline service and execution.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in the food industry
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques
Previous experience in team management and restaurant operations
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
