Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, along with supervisory experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met while fostering a positive team atmosphere.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient food service operations. Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes according to menu specifications. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste. Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices. Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and development to enhance guest experiences. Ensure timely service of meals while maintaining quality standards. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with restaurant policies and procedures.

Requirements

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant setting. Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Familiarity with food service operations, including inventory management and cost control. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment. Previous experience in hospitality or the food industry is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.75-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week

Work Location: In person
